Carroll county Farm Bureau will vacate its current building by July 9 to relocate to the former Odd Fellows structure in Mt Carroll. Marth Brothers will build a modern store on the site, extending toward the alley. the post office and Gamble store occupy the current ground floor. The move requires AAA relocation and temporary lodge room use on the second floor until Clay street post office is ready.

Under President Roosevelt's order for higher munitions output the Savanna Ordnance Depot will run three eight hour shifts and add 100 workers to loading plant operations.
