Series of weekend auto wrecks with few injuries
Carrel county sheriff's department investigated four weekend accidents on Route 80 between Savanna and Thomson. One serious injury involved James Chipman of River View after a collision with John Harding of Savanna. Harding was fined for failure to yield. Other crashes near Thomson and Savanna resulted in minor injuries or none, including a wind driven rollover near Thomson, a six student wagon from Shimer College, and two Savanna drivers named Bill Nehrkorn and Robert Spittler with minimal damage.
