Area FFA boys from Carroll County showcased at the Section I Vo-Ag Fair near Amboy July 25 26 with 900 entries from 18 schools including cattle hogs sheep and non livestock projects. Ricky Cook Shannon won Champion Shorthorn Female and Wayne Wubbena Shannon captured Grand and Reserve Hereford. Cheryl Grinnall Mt Carroll won Champion Hereford bull and Steve Smith Lanark took Champion Holstein female. Darrell Emnyre Chadwick won Champion garden produce and Lawrence Bruckner Thomson won Champion hay. Shan non boys led Beef group. Sunday visitors Rev and Mrs Lowell Allen Polo and Milton Larson Island of Madagascar visited Thomson Methodist Church.

Black Oak Grange Social Meeting Held Thursday
Black Oak Grange held its social meeting Thursday evening in Grange Hall. A safety program was presented by Mrs. Jack Halfman, Sr. Charles Burkholder and Herbert Richter. Burkholder also performed a short arithmetic skit and Harold Horner spoke on road marking and numbering in Carroll county. Guests from Rock Creek Grange were Francis Provant and Horner.
