Carroll County Fair Opens With Six Act Kickoff
The 1966 Carroll County Fair in Milledgeville northern Illinois plans six acts on Monday August 8 by Carroll county 4 H and FFA club youths to determine Share the Fun contestants for the State Fair. A Miss Flame of Milledgeville contest follows with Fire District contestants. Livestock judging starts Tuesday with a new horse pulling event and a county tractor pull open to Carroll residents. The cow calf scramble features 4 H and FFA youths. Wednesday includes pony show classes Johnny Kings Thrill Show. Thursday hosts Great Lakes Naval Band and a grand parade. The Fat Steer Show and Northern Illinois Tractor Pull dominate Friday. Saturday ends with halter and performance horse shows and Lassie the TV dog plus Mel’s Famous Clown Band. Over 140 orphans will join Milledgeville Jaycees for a day.

Judge Dismisses Neglect Charges Against Edwards Williamson
Acting on a recommendation from the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Judge Edward J Turnbaugh dismissed neglect charges against Mary E Edwards of Savanna and Faye L Williamson of Carroll.
