Slowness of Voter Data Recording Prompted Register Early
Carroll county voters are urged to register with the county clerk or deputy registrars this summer to ease the upcoming workload. A test by Deputy William Nipe showed eight voters’ data could be typed in a half hour. With 10 000 eligible voters, copying data would take about four days for one person, not counting information gathering or file placement. The final registration day is Oct 6, leaving only 28 days before the election, so extra help will be needed unless many voters register now.
