The project raised over 70000 in a county wide fund drive and will employ about 60 staff including five professional nurses. Carrol County faces $100000 suit over 1967 Lanark crash

Mary J Britt of Sterling filed a Cook County circuit suit naming Kay S Grant Charles Phillips Volkswagen Corp William Pottorff and Glenn Mummert among five counts seeking 100000 for personal injuries and medical bills from a one car crash four miles south of Lanark on April 23 1967. The suit alleges a hole in the Lanark Milledgeville road caused the crash while Grant and Phillips owned and drove the VW. Local residents were served January 14 and the county has 30 days to answer in Cook County Court.
