Sick Mrs. Paul McDearmon was dismissed from Morrison hospital after a fall and pelvic fracture. Derek Emnyre, son of Mr and Mrs Dennis Emnyre, was dismissed from Jane Lamb hospital Clinton after several days as a medical patient. Mrs Viva Daehler had surgery at Mercy Hospital Clinton and returned home Tuesday. Mrs Grace Puterbaugh was taken by ambulance from Maple Lawn Thomson to Savanna City hospital where she remains a patient.

Thomson District Moves to Collect Unpaid Book Rentals
The Thomson Community Unit District board approves legal action to collect unpaid book rentals and seeks welfare- backed payment if needed. Central Telephone seeks ICC approval for rate increases in Thomson Savanna Mount Carroll
The Central Telephone Company of Illinois petitions the Illinois Commerce Commission for rate hikes across 22 tariffs to raise monthly revenue by 217,321.17 from customers and 2,607.04 annually, with totals rising further to 285,151.03 monthly and 3,421,812.36 yearly after miscellaneous services. The January 29 hearing at 10 a.m. in Springfield will review the proposal affecting Thomson Savanna and Mount Carroll customers and the transition to Extended Area Service effective March 7, 1970.
