Hollinshead Passes Away In Ustick Township
Claire R. Hollinshead aged 57 and lifelong Ustick resident died Friday night at his home. Private funeral was held Monday at J Carney funeral home Morrison with Rev. H G Arink officiating and burial in Hollinshead cemetery. He was born March 6 1886 in Ustick township and survived by two brothers D Earle of Morrison and C Burton of Fulton. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

An all day district conference of Triple-A county committeemen and farm advisers set for Tuesday Feb 1 in Dixon will center on the 1944 farm program. On Feb 8 community committeemen meet in Mt Carroll to learn how to present the plan to farmers who must sign a 1944 farm plan indicating yearly production intentions. Payments for 1944 hinge on production conservation practices with set maximums per farm and various practices earning added payments, including limestone and phosphate spreading, hay seed harvest, pasture improvement, contour intertilled crops at 1.50 per acre, contour seeding of small grains 0.50 per acre, and contour stripcropping 2.50 per acre.

Flames Destroy Three-Room Farm House Near Savana
Fire about 1 15 a m Saturday razed a three room house on the J W Miller farm on Oakton road near Savana. Mr and Mrs Frank Cramer occupied the home and lost contents entirely as they fled after waking to flames. The structure had tile walls and a wood shingled roof. building loss was partly insured, contents were not.
