Carroll County Board approves a resolution to blacktop 4.11 miles of gravel road from Ideal to Morrison Chadwick, a federal aid project by 1971 with an estimated total of about 240000 dollars and county share of 85000. Youth Tractor Training Sessions Offered by Carroll County
Fourteen and fifteen year old boys and girls may join training sessions starting January 29 to qualify for on farm employment next summer. Classes run January 29 at Acker Implement Mt Carroll, February 5 at Hartman Implement Mt Carroll, and February 12 at the Extension Office meeting room with an additional machinery operation skill exam. At least two of the three meetings must be attended and a passing grade on the exam is required. Parents should attend and advance registration is encouraged.

Clark D. Sikkema son of Mr and Mrs Robert Sikkema of Fulton formerly of Thomson has received a citation and Air Force Commendation Medal for meritorious service as a pneumatic repairman with the 12th Field Maintenance Squadron. County State Highway Improvements in Carroll County
Carroll County will receive two state highway resurfacing projects on the eastern edge of the county. Governor Ogilvie released about 445000 for the work with 219000 for 5 5 miles of Illinois 64 east of Lanark to Brookville and 226000 for 5 1/2 miles of Illinois 72 from Shannon to Illinois 26, shared with Ogle County. Projects slated for completion this summer.
