A naval recruiter will visit the Savanna Post Office on January 20 1944 at 1 p m and Fulton at 10 30 a m to interview men for the Navy and Naval Reserve and women for the Naval Reserve and WAVES. WAVES candidates must be 20 with two years of high school. young men may enlist at 17. age 38 to 50 with special skills may join the Naval Reserve. Applicants should bring birth or baptismal certificates and a parental permission note.

December ADC and OAA Payments Reported by State Auditor
State Auditor Arthur C. Lueder announced December payments for the aid to dependent children program totaling $766,495 aiding 55,198 children in Illinois. In Carroll County payments of $585 aided 69 children, and in Whiteside County $2,801 assisted 207 dependents. December old age pension payments reached $4,204,209 to 143,982 recipients. Holland and Pratt of York township own the top four herds based on December butterfat and milk production.
