The Carroll Service Company annual meeting is set for Saturday at the Mr Carroll high school gym. Principal speaker John Strohm Prairie Farmer managing editor will discuss world journalism and agriculture. T L Davis Illinois Farm Supply will also speak on soil testing and farm topics. PCA Supervisor Promotes Farm Loans in Mt Carroll

N. V. Lateer field supervisor of the emergency crop and feed loan office will be at the Production Credit Association office in Mt. Carroll today February 21 from 9 to 11 a m to accept loan applications for crops or livestock feed. Savanna Teen Severely Injured in Truck Crash

Richard Weidman 17 of Savanna was hospitalized Saturday with a crushed chest and multiple lacerations after his light truck collided with a stock truck on Chicago Avenue. John Tracy 14 and Dorothy Pollock 15 were treated for minor injuries and released. Victor Tracy 15 was not hurt. The stock truck driver Merle Gillogly of Miles Indiana escaped injury. Police say Weidman lost control. Gillogly said the light truck came on the wrong side of the street.

Tom Brooks Former Sahula Actor Dies in Accident

Mr and Mrs Jack Brooks of Sabula Iowa received notice February 14 of the accidental death of their only son Tom Linton Brooks in New York. A firing by a handgun in their apartment caused the fatal shooting. Tom, known for tent theatre acts in the territory, had served two years in the merchant marine and planned to return home next month to rejoin the show business.

Livestock feeders from northwest Illinois plan a meeting February 22 at the Coliseum in Sterling DL. Elmer Buffington of Milledgeville will chair under the Illinois Cattle Feeders Association. Homer UH Nicholas a 74 year old resident of Mill edgeville died early Monday in a Rockford hospital after illness. Funeral services were held Wednesday at the Milledgeville Methodist church with burial in Bethel cemetery. Surviving are his wife a son Lyle Nicholas a daughter Mrs Ralph Milrey a grandson and two sisters and two brothers. He operated a garage and auto sales business in Milledgeville for many years.

Ronald Venhuizen the two month old son of Mr and Mrs Fred Venhuizen of Milledgeville died Thursday morning February 14 at home. Carroll County Tax Bill Rises With School and Highway Levy Increases

Carroll county taxpayers face a total tax bill of 783 099 42 for the 1945 assessment, up 429 72 from 1944. Increases majorly stem from district school levies and highway funding, with salaries for teachers cited as a key factor in school tax growth. York township shows a decrease of about 4 000 due to reduced township levies, while railroads and corporations add 154 404 28 and 195 888 28 respectively to total collections.

Savanna Couple Weds in Methodist Ceremony

Miss Mice Norvalee Tuttle and Robert W. Swingley were married at Savanna Methodist Church on Saturday February 16. Rev. Arthur C.
