Carroll County Farm Bureau marks 27th annual meeting in Mt Carroll

More than 1000 attended the Carroll County farm bureau annual meeting at Mount Carroll High School on Saturday January 31. Elmer Airharte was reelected president and officers and directors were announced with several names listed for the board. The afternoon program featured vocal numbers, a German Band and piano solo performances by local students.

Auto Crash Near Mt Carroll Leaves Injured Minor

A 9 year old passenger from Rockford and a 37 year old companion suffered injuries when a car driven by Howard Schuchard of Savanna ran off Route 64 near Mt Carroll around 1:30 am Monday. The vehicle plunged down a steep embankment leaving the girl with a broken leg and the man with minor cuts. The girl, a daughter of Austin Roche, was taken to City Hospital in Savanna with Sheriff Henry Tranger and Deputy Sheriff Harry Milley assisting.

The Thomson F F A chapter purchased a Stewart Clipmas ter to be used by members in the supervised farming program.
