Lanark Boy Elected To Lead L Hls District Council

Allen Snidel of Lanark was elected president of district one for 1958 and 1939 of the Illinois High School League of Student Welfare Counc il. The annual district convention met Saturday at Prophetstown High School with delegates from Lanark and eight other northern Illinois schools.

Jail Two More For Complicity In Theft Cases

Harm Schuur 27 formerly of Baileyville was brought to Freeport from Worthington Minnesota where he was arrested Dec 14 and charged with theft of farm equipment using forged checks. His cousin Marvin Schuur 20 Pecatonica is held as accessory before the fact and jailed. Both linked to a series of farm thefts with Harold Saxby of Freeport. Officials say 42 pieces of silverware from Oscar Johnson farm near Pecatonica were recovered at Pearl City and tied to Saxby.
