Carroll County Board approves annual reports in Mt Carroll
Carroll county board of supervisors met in Mt Carroll for a two day session approving bills and the annual reports of county officials. The general county fund showed a Dec 1 balance of 41916.23 with receipts totaling 711632.87 and disbursements of 34118.22 plus jury warrants 833.95 and other fees. Mothers pension fund had 241.58 from the state and 4817.34 from the county with six months payouts totaling 2272.50. Highway fund receipts were 13081.01 with 4921.50 paid.

Nativity Play at Shimer Set for Sunday Evening
A nativity drama titled The Finding of the King will be set at Shimer Junior College in Mt. Carroll on Sunday December 15 at 7 30 pm in the gym. A musical program of English carols from the 14th to 17th centuries will accompany the performance by members of the dramatic and glee clubs under Dorothy Wil as director and Mrs Scott as musical director. Admission is free with a silver offering collected.

Savanna Amends Parking Ordinance At City Meeting
The Savanna council approved a Parking Ordinance amendment restricting parking on 4th Street in Arvana Borough and Sibington Street to within ten feet of school blocks. Vehicles may park within school blocks if within ten feet of the building. The amendment imposes penalties for violators under state traffic laws enforceable by the city police.

WPA Sewing Project Aided by Savanna PTA
Ten women on the WPA sewing project in Savanna craft garments for children from financially embarrassed families. Equipment and much material were donated by the Savanna Parent Teachers Association. Northwestern Illinois high school seniors will attend a one day conference at Stockton High School in February. Held last year at Frances Shimer College, the event moved to Stockton due to space.
