The M. E. benefit show at the A MUSE TJ venue drew a light attendance and telegrams failed to cover show expenses, leaving the event short of funds.
Mrs. Nancy French, over ninety nine, attended the Paramount production at the A Muse U last Friday. She expressed great pleasure with the show and recalled real scenes from earlier days, saying the picture was based on facts.
The Odd Fellows held a full dress installation of officers for the coming year at their lodge rooms on Monday evening, followed by a banquet prepared by local cooks noted as exceptionally good.

Letters published in January will follow the same first-in policy as last winter, highlighting readers living away from home and proving they are still on top.
Mrs Rosanna Griswold enjoyed a surprise birthday party at her home last Friday marking her 82nd birthday. Her three daughters hosted a delightful dinner with Trey staying through the afternoon as the event concluded successfully.
Will Hawk was surprised by a large gathering of friends at his home last Saturday night. They brought refreshments and reminded him he still has a birthday once a year. He joked about getting too old for parties, but the evening showed otherwise.
The Thomson High School basketball team won their season opener against Hanover at an opera house venue. Poor floor conditions due to dancing use and nearly impassable roads north of Savanna hampered travel as the team arrived by car and faced a difficult game environment.
Mr and Mrs John Gaar welcomed a daughter born Friday. Harry Godes of Preston and Luther Geisinger of Sabula stayed in Thomson part of the week. The boys have five games this week playing Hanover McCausland Morrison Albany and Wacker hall. The Covered Wagon show at the A Muse drew a large audience with patrons pleased by the picture.
