The final two days of the Far institute held at the WPgO church drew large crowds with both afternoon and evening programs. The home talent play by twenty eight characters was well received, the high school orchestra provided music, and displays were judged on Saturday. Financially the institute was a success, the play earning over fifty dollars plus farmer and community donations.

Clara Celestra Hale Babcock of Erie died Friday at 74. Born May 31, 1850 in Fitchville Ohio, she was the first woman ordained in the Christain Church about forty years ago in Cincinnati. She led pastorates in Erie Thomson Rapid City Dixon Iowa and preached in Clinton churches. Surviving: husband Israel R. Babcock of Erie, son in Clinton and his family, a daughter in law and three grandchildren, Mary Babcock at Fort William Ontario, Kittie Perkins who lived with her, two half brothers Ira J. Babcock Fort William Ontario and Adelbert D. Babcock Kewanee Illinois, a half-sister Alice May Bliss Olds Alberta Canada. Funeral Monday at 2:30 pm at the Christain church in Erie conducted by Rev. A. C. Stowe Clinton assisted by W. K. Kratzer.
