Miss Helen Sheridan eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs James J Sheridan and Thomas Hand of Lyons were united in marriage at noon on Thanksgiving day at St Peter's Catholic church Thomson. Rev Father N A Medellan performed the ceremony. The church was decorated and attended by Irene Sheridan as bridesmaid and Leo Hand as best man. The vows were accompanied by Lohengrin on organ and violin and I Love You Truly sung by Mrs A E Sheridan. After Mass the couple hosted a wedding breakfast at the Sheridan home for about sixty relatives and friends. The bride, a Thomson native and former York Center schoolteacher, will live at the Sheridan farm residence for the winter before the couple assumes management and move to Thomson in spring. Congratulations and best wishes were extended by the community.
Mrs Tom Clark suffered a fall while at the Pratt house this week and a doctor’s examination found her shoulder bone dislocated.
News of theatrical interest reports Johnny Seymour presenting Midnight Follies at Clinton Orpheum starting Sunday. The production promises elaborate scenery and costumes, a Winter Garden Chorus, Norman and Grayson dancers, and three showings next week due to high demand. Cyrus Alexander and Yorke Geler visit locals as the town awaits further updates.
The property of the late Mrs Turney will be disposed at public auction this Saturday at 2 o'clock next door to the residence. The sale includes household furniture and home goods.
Rush Carroll and Kyle Melendy were in town Tuesday soliciting articles for premiums at the Argo Pa Farmers Institute activities to be held December 12 and 13. Miss Dorthy Atherton and John Vance united in marriage at DeWitt home of John Bu low last Thursday. Newlyweds plan to reside on a farm northeast of DeWitt. Also noted are local court bonds, holiday visits from Harmon Illinois, Chicago visitor Gus Ghelsen, and Gorzney Brothers closing out sale December 10 on the Dr Mathis place with substantial machinery and stock.
