Essay Contest Opens Statewide For Young Writers
Dr James Zig erell chair of the judging committee says essays will be judged on freshness of approach render interest and organization. First second and third place will be awarded to winners from each state region with prizes and a grand prize. Entries must postmarked by midnight February 12 1968 and mailed to Box C Children's Press Inc 1224 West Van Buren Street Chicago IL 60607. Winners notified by April 1 1968 and grand prize plus five first place winners invited to the Illinois State Historical Society Sesquicentennial Banquet in Chicago to receive awards.
