The Lanark creamery Sorenson and Sons opened for business Friday morning with Peter Sorenson, long known as a leading buttermaker in Mt. Carroll, in charge alongside his sons Henry and Martin. Sorenson earned a silver medal last year at the National Buttermaker convention for second high butter score, with top butter scoring 95.

Bristol School reports a new December president for the Jolly Eight club Frances Hartman was chosen. Jeanne Swett won the spelling contest at Bristol and will contest in York Center township. Mr and Mrs Earl Heinze visited from Rock Falls and stayed with Mr and Mrs Adam Heinze.
