Preliminary plans for new Mercy Hospital at Clinton completed
Architects have completed tentative sketches for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Clinton. The three story fireproof building would sit on the current site with about 100 beds and a modern maternity unit. Cost is estimated to exceed 2 million dollars with Hill Burton federal aid possible and a community subscription drive planned later.

Soak Garden Flowers When Watering
Advice from University of Illinois floriculturist G. M. Foster favors a thorough soaking to six inches depth rather than light surface watering. Water only after soil dries, avoid lingering damp foliage to prevent mildew, and prefer morning watering or soak hoses to keep leaves dry.
