Supervisors Elect Marshall Chairman
Mervin G. Marshall 64 of Thomson was unanimously elected chairman of the Carroll County Board of Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting in the Courthouse. The veteran supervisor, on the board since 1958, was chosen to fill the unexpired term of the late Charles Kessler. The session also debated mileage payments and budget items, finalizing a 10 to 4 vote to reduce the official mileage rate from 15 to 10 cents per mile amid concerns over double standards and unpaid costs.
