Twelve year old Billy Geiseman confesses to double killing
William Geiseman confessed to Sheriff Ray Westfall that he shot and killed Charles Krugjohann and Ada Krugjohann, a Shannon farm couple who had taken him in two years earlier. He led authorities to the scene and described loading a .22 rifle to murder both spouses before driving to relatives. The coroner's inquest labeled the deaths murder intent and the boy was jailed.

Cattle Tops At Chicago Trade For Carroll County Stockman
Orville Woessner a Carroll county stockman sold a drove of choice heifers at Chicago Stock Yards midweek prices. The cattle averaged 66 pounds and brought 13.60 dollars per cwt the week’s high for stock of this class. Cattle and hog prices reached record highs in Chicago with cattle at 17.00 and hogs at 14.65 as the peak figures since prior decades.
