High School Music Dept Wins Six Superiors at State Contest
Thomson High School music students earned six superior ratings six excellent and four good at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest held last Saturday in Ashton. Instrumental solos and ensembles with superior ratings included tuba and french horn solos, multiple clarinet ensembles, brass and woodwind groups. vocal sections earned three good ratings led by Lawrence Bruckner. Band director Earle Mailand and accompanists Mrs Mailand and Mrs Thomas Mode supported the performances. bus driver William Gengenbach ferried students to the event.

The Caballero 4H Club met April 6 at the west farm to plan Share-The-Fun and a 4 H float. Gayle Peugh spoke, Marsha Livengood read a poem, Fred Beightol and Russell Port demonstrated First Aid, Joanne Port demonstrated horsemanship, and members reviewed cow judging and record books before adjournment. Seventeen dozen brooms were sold by the Thomson Lions Club over Monday and Tuesday nights to aid the blind. Grandfather of Mrs Plumley Dies at 94 in Wilmot NH
