Thomson and Shirley Stage of Fulton were dinner guests of their son Eugene Stage in Clinton Iowa and later had supper with their granddaughter and husband William Comstock. Bert Stainbrook of Clinton was a business caller on Wednesday.

Assessors Begin Work With New Property Valuations

Township tax assessors met with Mrs. Lula M. Ross to finalize plans for the year. Assessments cover livestock fed on hand, leased improvements, tenant paid building work, rural electrification property, and detailed per item valuations for cattle, horses, goats, sheep, swine, poultry, grains, hay, and autos with a June 1 deadline.

Ritenour and Gillespie Obituaries From Mt Carroll Area

Andrew Jackson Ritenour 80 died March 28 at his Savanna home after a paralytic stroke. Born March 9 1867 in Warren County Pa he married Minnie Oberheim who died years ago. Surviving include two sons Earl and Kenneth two daughters and many relatives. Carrie Gillespie 82 died March 26 at a son’s home west of Mt Carroll. Born December 3 1864 in Wisconsin she married Charles Gillespie in 1892. Surviving are a son two brothers and a sister with three grandchildren. Burial followed in Zon Cemetery Mt Carroll.

Deaths of Clyde Lindeman and Charles Yeager

Clyde C. Lindeman 55 of Savanna died Friday in Goudette Minnesota from a heart attack. He had lived in Savanna 40 years and worked for the Milwaukee railroad 30 years. WWI veteran. Survived by son Francia, two brothers Harold and Elmer, three sisters, and other relatives. Charles Yeager 65 of Shannon died Tuesday at St Francis Hospital Freeport after being taken there. He farmed near Shannon before moving to the village and is survived by his widow, sister Esther McFadden, and a daughter. Funeral arrangements were made in Shannon.

MYF To Conduct Easter Services

The MYF will meet at the parsonage Easter morning for a sunrise service. The Easter story in Kodachrome slides will be shown. Thomson church and Argo group join for a Good Friday service at 7 30. Easter Sunday includes reception of members and possible baptism, with a fourth quarterly conference naming next year’s officials to take office after the June Annual Conference.
