Federal Geodetic Field Survey Party in Carroll County
Federal geodetic crew of 13 men and 13 vehicles works in Carroll County for two months establishing elevation levels from Davis Junction to Prairie du Chien. Led by Robert Gerrish of Pottsdam the team operates from Mt. Carroll Savanna and Thomson, with offices in Thomson, studying a historic line originally laid in 1883 and extending toward St. Cloud Minnesota.

County program on drugs draws capacity crowd
A crowd estimated at 600 to 700 gathered at Chadwick High School Auditorium Tuesday night to hear a program on drugs. Sgt. Terry Carpenter of Mt. Morris police discussed marijuana in a 20 minute film and a 30 to 40 minute talk on drug risks, with emphasis on education as the cure.
