Service Station Bloc Up in Arms
Atlanta AP A remark about men who pump gasoline at filling stations angered about 3,300 Petroleum operators in Georgia. State Board of Education member Bob Wright described a proposal to merge last two high school years with area trade schools as a plan so students will not have to pump gas. Georgia Association of Petroleum Retailers protested as a personal insult. Wright apologized, insisting the line was a figure of speech and not aimed at operators.
