Telephone Theft Attempt Leads to Arrests at Station
A man in charge at In galls station reported an attempted theft of a telephone coin box. Frank Taylor was arrested for drunkenness at Winthrop Beach, and William Cochrane was brought in from Tewksbury Street. Both cases were continued in East Boston Court after pleas of not guilty.

Prizes Awarded At Bowlers Banquet In Winthrop League
The Winthrop Interlub Bowling League held its annual banquet at the Winthrop Highlands Yacht Club with about 75 bowlers and guests. Awards went to Union Church A A for first, Winthrop Yacht Club second, Cottage Park third, and high team totals and individual averages were announced. Commo dore Farquhar invited all to next week’s prize roll off at the yacht club, while honors included cups for top teams and a cuff link souvenir for the first man to pay a fine. The evening closed with music from famed entertainers and plans for a seventh season in October.
