Funeral services for Miss Maude K. Murray, who died Tuesday at 183 Cottage Park Road, will be held Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church. Born 1895, she was a longtime soloist and concert performer with ties to Winthrop High School and Opera and theatrical circles. she is survived by her mother Clara F. Lane, sister Mary Clara, brother John, and two aunts, all of Winthrop or New York connections.

Performances Postponed For Two Evenings In Winthrop Appeal For Support
Two of the three scheduled performances of the soldier citizens musical comedy and minstrel revue It s Gotta Be Different were postponed due to rain. General Chairman Captain Edward B Gallant Director Captain James L Caddigan and the committee urged Winthrop citizens to back the benefit for soldiers stationed there. The show will run Sunday and Monday evenings June 22 and 23 with possible bonus Tuesday evening for Monday and Wednesday tickets. Close to 2000 witnessed the production at Miller Field praising the amateur theater effort. A large cast with soldiers and local performers presented songs, dances, skits, and pantomime on a gold-silver set.
