Thieves Take Items From Sloop Near Winthrop
William H. Wincapaw a familiar New England figure known as the flying Santa Claus had his sloop cabin broken into off Winthrop. Thieves stole a 12 inch liquid compass in a mahogany box running lights and rope valued at 214 dollars. Police were alerted but no trace was found.
