Final Meeting of Hospital League in Winthrop
The Winthrop Community Hospital League held its final meeting before autumn on June 15 at the hospital. Mrs Sadie Shorley was elected to membership and placed on the waiting list. Over 2000 dressings were prepared as Miss Marion Fussell supervised a tour showing the new gas and oxygen machine bought from the Charity Bridge proceeds. Hostesses served teas and sandwiches.

Boy Singers To Be Heard Here Sunday
Winthrop music lovers will hear the Crusade Union Boy Singers this Sunday morning June 27 at 1 o clock at the First Church of Winthrop Methodist Episcopal. The chorus of thirty five boys tours New England and Canada this summer and features four parts with a soprano section that can sing high C. Dr. H F E K Whitney national director says the group uses music to develop the better spiritual life of boys. The performance invites the public to attend.

A three mile amateur road race is set for Monday July 5 at 3 PM as part of Winthrop Post 146 American Legion carnival at Cen a school grounds. Special Town Meeting Contemplated for Ingleside Park Funds
A special town meeting may be called by the Board of Selectmen this week to consider new funds for Ingleside Park. The Park Department seeks money to finish ball park work and to possibly build two tennis courts. Also on the agenda are library extension projects at the Shirley Street School and a committee to study a railroad system consolidation. The exact totals and dates will be set before press next week.
