Winthrop High School holds class day exercises in the Winthrop Theatre Tuesday at 10 30 and will stage graduation there June 11 at 10. Stamp and Hobby Exhibit Opens Saturday in Winthrop
The Winthrop Stamp Club Mounts a noncommercial exhibit June 12 through June 16 in the Public Library Museum Rooms. Hours are 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p m daily with items from stamps to hooked rugs wood carving ship models and a unique scare head edition of newspapers from the 1880s. Eugene P Whittier chairs the exhibit aimed at encouraging amateur interest across ages.

Transportation Committee Plans for Winthrop
At a Town Hall meeting the local Transportation Committee elected officers led by Chairman Sidney H. Blandford and Vice Chairman Roy Pigeon. An executive committee was formed to outline procedure as they prepare for a potential statewide bill on consolidating the Boston Elevated and Boston Revere Beach and Lynn Railroad. The Beach branch public library opening is scheduled for Tuesday June 15 with public inspection and daily hours beginning June 16.

Cemetery Vault Waterproofing Underway at Winthrop Cemetery
Waterproofing work on the cement vault in Winthrop Cemetery is progressing with a large trench dug behind the vault. The entire side will be sealed with finest material and the top waterproofed, featuring a waterproof tile floor. Completion is expected in a few weeks.
