Winthrop residents and garden enthusiasts filled Odd Fellows Hall for a two day flower show hosted by the Garden Club. A moss fountain centerpiece by Charles R. Ben nison drew praise and a blue ribbon, with window boxes and a tiered garden scene also honored. Junior entries included bird houses and wildflower baskets as exhibitors praised local care and talent.

Two hundred fifty three seniors of the 1936 Winthrop High School class received diplomas at the Thursday morning commencement in the theater. Students filed in from the Senior High School led by class officers and Principal Arthur Boudreau.
