Town Meeting Votes 14000 for WPA Projects Ingleside Avenue
A special town meeting delayed by lack of quorum approved a 14000 appropriation for WPA projects and authorized laying out and construction on Ingleside avenue after a lengthy search for members. Attendance rose from 101 to 126 then enough to reach the 134 required. Memorial Day ceremonies drew former Winthrop residents to the cemetery and monuments.

Health officials warn bathers along Pleasant Street near Lincoln not to swim as sewer contents drain into waters by Donovan Beach. Damaged chimney supports, aged 45 years, caused the break. Kennedy sought WPA funds for repairs but the town meeting denied them. repairs will take time.

The Garden Club of Winthrop attended the New York Iris and Peony Show at Rockefeller Center New York May 25 28. Miss Ella Mason former secretary and now press committee member represented the club. The committee postpones the planned group portrait of Floyd Bel cher Tewksbury descendants from Sunday June 7 to fall due to lack of interest.
