Miss Diggins, resident of Putnam Street, survived a Sunday afternoon fire at Scobey Hospital Back Bay. She recalls her room on the second floor and assistance from nurse Miss Johnson before evacuation to the home of Mrs. S. W. Herrick. Her brother Walter Nickerson aided with clothing while she recovered with Dr. Thomas Wickham treating her.
The Winthrop Catholic Woman's Club plans a Monday evening gathering in St. John's Hall Lincoln St. It is the first 1925 meeting and includes an illustrated lecture by Mr George T Willhauck of New England Tel and Tel on An Evening on the Telephone. Mrs Wallace A Pratt will be hostess. A rainy day Happiwork Pastime Package is offered at Ham's Stores for children.
The Board of Selectmen accepted the resignation of Park Commissioner Victor A. Davis who served since March 5, 1917 and on the Planning Board. He resigned as chairman of the Park Board on April 2, 1924. His duties now pass to Harry B. Sawtelle of 290 Bowdoin Street whose term ends in 1926.
