The Winthrop Unemployment Committee cancels its Beano Party to stage a minstrel show and revue at Odd Fellows Hall on Saturday evening December 14. Proceeds go to the Christmas basket and coal fund. Thomas Welch of Winthrop High was chosen captain of the 1936 football team at a lettermen meeting. He succeeds co captains Phil Chardon and Howie Freeman and has been an outstanding tackle for two seasons. Welch also plays basketball and baseball.
