Funeral held for Capt Richmond G Stoehr with Old Machine Gun unit
Last Saturday afternoon the funeral for Capt Richmond G Stoehr was held from his home at 86 Johnson Ave and at St John s Episcopal Church. The Old Machine Gun comrades escorted the service, with police and crowd present. The flag draped casket, dead march, and tunes led by Organist Eugene P Whit tier marked a solemn procession to Mt Auburn Cemetery. The body bearers were Machine Gun comrades Jerry Carlz Stanley A Roberts John W Hogan Carl Harding Albert T Hayes and Albert Silberburg.

Col Kilbourne Transferred From Fort Banks Command
Col Charles Kilbourne commander of the Boston Harbor Coast Defences at Fort Banks receives orders April 6 transferring him to Washington to the Chief of Artillery. He has the grippe and will not move until September. He assumed Fort Banks command September 1, 1924.

Winthrop Catholic Woman's Club Mourns Fr. Griffin
The Winthrop Catholic Woman's Club will omit its regular meeting on Monday evening April 13 due to the death of Spiritual Director Rev. John H. Griffin. The executive board made the decision this week. A large club delegation attended his requiem mass last Monday and several members were at his interment in Canton Massachusetts.

News of Fr. John H. Griffin’s death spreads after 1 PM on a Friday. Assistant Rev. John J. O'Brien administered last rites. Dr. Charles F. Mahoney attended. A large turnout from Winthrop and nearby towns filled the church for a requiem Mass led by Bishop Joseph G. Anderson. Attendees included many priests from Boston area parishes and a long procession past town landmarks as the funeral proceeded to Canton for committal.
