Three Veniremen for Hyde Trial
In Kansas City, Mo, Oct 26, only three of eighteen veniremen in the second murder trial of Dr. J. Clark Hyde for the death of Colonel Thomas Swope were tentatively accepted by both sides. Seventy-nine veniremen were summoned. twenty were excused, leaving forty unexamined. Nelson W. Talbot of Grain Valley said he had not heard of the case and favored a fair, impartial jury. The defense sought dismissal of the venire. Judge Porterfield will decide after current panel is exhausted as night sessions loom.
