Unknown TAMN. Judge Stewart case noted

A briefing from McAlester Oklahoma reports W T Hollman Choctaw Indian testified before a congressional committee that he was hired by J F McMurray to solicit land sale contracts from Oklahoma Indians. Hollman said he was paid a dollar per head and McMurray would collect ten percent in fees. Indians believed McMurray had influence to speed payments from Washington, and many would accept up to seventy five percent to obtain funds quickly. McMurray stated the contracts originated under tribal demand rather than his choice. D C McCurtain repeated accusations of a $25000 bribe to withdraw opposition to old contracts disapproved by President Roosevelt. Jake J Hannon indicated no involvement with McMurray. Co B Stewart, attorney for Haskell, denied Hammon’s employment.
