Mayor Gaynor Shot Aboard Kaiser Wilhelm Die Grosse

New York Mayor William J Gaynor was shot on the Kaiser Die Gosse while boarding for Europe and seriously wounded. A pistol fired by Julius James Gallagher wounded the mayor in the neck as guards restrained the assailant who claimed Gaynor had deprived him of bread. Gaynor regained consciousness at St Marys Hospital Hoboken and the assailant was arrested aboard the steamer.

Colorado prospect good say Oklahoma experts

The people of Moffat celebrate natural water pressure and possible natural gas. Two gas and oil experts, Wm. Meeka and H. J. Swarts, who visited during the land sale, say prospects are fine and will return to Oklahoma to organize a company to test the land. If successful, it would add another wonder to the San Luis Valley.

Bank Change at Tahlequah Oklahoma State Bank Acquisition

Tahlequah Oklahoma August 9 The First State Bank of Tahlequah has purchased the Oklahoma State Bank and assumed its business. The First State is recapitalized at forty thousand while the Oklahoma State previously carried a capital of twenty five thousand. The Oklahoma State was formerly the Cherokee National Bank. George Costley 37 of Vinita Okla and Miss Huma n Duncan of Oswego Kan were married in Kansas City after he urged an immediate wedding. Costley, candidate for re election to the Craig county board of commissioners, expects luck in his race with the bride. The ceremony took place at the Wyan dotte county probate court with Judge Van Prather officiating. The pair had planned December nuptials and had been sweethearts eight years. They plan to depart for Craig county today.
