Grants initiated in 2006 by FAWRC member Marty Ellen South in her daughter Kim's memory fund summer activities for girls aged 11 to 13. Recipients not recognized publicly, with continued yearly support. FRWRC since 1996 has given over $80,000 in grants to more than 120 recipients.
A suspect charged March 25 with second degree murder in the Adams case appeared in Warren County Circuit Court. The defendant, now 18, waived speedy trial rights and faces 5 to 40 years if convicted. He is held at the Rappahannock Shenandoah Warren Regional Jail and will be tried as an adult.

The Front Royal Riverton Commons Plaza changed hands with JCR Companies of Washington D C acquiring the 69 496 square foot shopping center for about 17 7 million First Virginia Community Bank financed the deal per a release by LHB Communications listing Lowe s and Walmart as anchors and noting five pad sites with two vacant JCR plans to lease vacancies and develop or sell the sites noting Front Royal growth and Riverton Commons as the firm s eighth center acquisition since 2012.
John William Good, 81, of Front Royal, formerly Harrisonburg, died September 3, 2017. He served as a police officer, Town Council member, and deacon. memorial services are September 22 and 23 at Maddox Funeral Home, with burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery. He attended Warren County High School and Fairfax County Criminal Justice Training Academy, served in US Army 1956 1959, and worked in private security until 2008. He is survived by daughter Leila Bain Good Corbett and husband Joe, with extensive relatives. Memorials may go to Humane Society of Warren County. Arrangements by Maddox Funeral Home.
