Rotary Youth RYLA planned by Front Royal middle school
Front Royal Randolph Macon Academy Middle School aims to host what may be the first Middle School Rotary Youth Leadership Activity worldwide. The event runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and promotes service above self and leadership skills for middle school students. Participants will join One Walk to Cure Diabetes at First Baptist Church, then visit the Northern Virginia 4-H Center for personality assessments and a talk on the Liberian Orphan Education Project.

Leach Run Parkway funding plan outlined by town officials
Town manager Steve Burke explained the $13 million Leach Run project is not paid in full by the town. About $12 million covers road construction and $868000 funds a 12 foot water main. Half the money comes from VDOT with the county sharing the rest later. Connolly noted plans for four lanes may rise if revenue sharing increases but funding must be secured first. Construction starts before month end.
