County officials say the current tax rate is 62 cents per 100 of assessed value and a 3 cent increase would raise about 1.2 million total. Each penny of the increase yields roughly 404000 from real estate taxes and 84000 from Dominion Power. The board can lower the rate before final vote by adjusting budget line items. Total projected revenue stands at about 105.6 million with Warren County Schools requesting about 23.4 million. the deficit would be eased by a 0.5 percent cut across all county departments and no health insurance increases.
