Front Royal prepares to begin powering town customers from the AMP solar project on Manassas Avenue Extended. NextEra Energy crews finalize connections by April 1 and plan to feed power into the grid the following week. The 10,528 panels at 2.5 megawatts will supply 300 to 350 homes, with weather and temperatures influencing output. The town leases the 15 acre site to AMP and will buy power without transmission charges.
