Rappahannock Electric Coop Announces 5 Percent Rate Increase
REC customers will face a 5 percent rise in monthly electric bills starting July 1 2014. The State Corporation Commission approved the increase to recover delivery costs for more than 158000 customers across 22 counties. An average 1000 kilowatt usage household would pay about 5.26 more per month, reflecting actual costs from 2012 to 2013 in a SCC approved transition plan.
