Virginia State Parks launches the 7th annual Adventure Series on February 18, 2024, a Dominion Energy presented multi sport circuit with 24 races at 13 parks statewide from coast to mountains. Space heater blamed in Warren County home fire
Warren County fire investigators say a space heater may have sparked a blaze that forced three people from their home Monday night. Fire crews responded around 11 p.m. to a single family dwelling on Wren Road in Point O Woods. occupants escaped before arrival. Investigators noted an abundance of combustible materials inside the home.

Driver charged after vehicle hits shelter church in Front Royal
Front Royal police charged Allyn Hyde with reckless driving after his vehicle crashed Sunday night into the First Presbyterian Church used as a temporary shelter. Hyde and a passenger were hurt and treated at Warren Memorial Hospital. the passenger later moved to a Fairfax hospital. The vehicle struck a column, a snow bank, and the portico collapsed. the passenger was struck as he exited. A field sobriety test found Hyde not intoxicated. The exact cause remains under investigation. Michelle Smeltzer, shelter board president, said she went to the church shortly after the incident.
