Duffield man arrested on child pornography charges
Aaron Wayne Smith, 43, of Wise County Virginia, was arrested January 24 on 10 felony counts related to online solicitation and child pornography. Investigators identified him during an undercover chat operation in Warren County and Front Royal, with court proceedings set February 15 2024 in Warren County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.

Emergency kayaker rescue on Shenandoah River near Shenandoah Farms
Emergency responders rescued two kayakers from the Shenandoah River after a flood watch. Three kayakers, two men and a 5-year-old, capsized near River Boat Drive around 3 pm. One man swam to shore, a second and child clung to a tree awaiting rescue. Rescue teams recovered the man and child from the water.
