Annexation moves forward as Front Royal settlement approved
Warren County supervisors on February 18 endorsed a new two party voluntary settlement with Front Royal to annex about 604 acres between Happy Creek Road and I-66, bringing undeveloped land into town for an 818 home project by Front Royal Limited Partnership. No speakers attended the public hearing at the Warren County Government Center.

Man charged after stabbing in Front Royal
Front Royal police arrested Eric Lamont Garris a 29 year old Hill Street resident on felony malicious wounding and child endangerment charges after a weekend stabbing left a 24 year old woman with life threatening injuries. The victim was treated at Warren Memorial Hospital then at Winchester Medical Center and listed in stable condition later Sunday. Garris is held without bond at Warren County Jail.

Warren man named as key heroin dealer in western Virginia
A Harrisonburg federal complaint accuses Warren County resident Ronnie Maurice Jones, 36, of leading a heroin and crack cocaine network in western Virginia. Jones was indicted September 19 on multiple drug and gun counts, with informants naming him the largest drug source in the Western District of Virginia. Authorities also filed a related complaint against Kareem Allen Shaw alleging a conspiracy to distribute drugs.

Warren County grand jury returns 26 indictments with Matthew Tyler Berkowitz, 21, of East 4th St., charged in July and September 2013 incidents.
