Warren County road crews trim trees and test soil
VDOT says daylight trimming along Warren County highways with flaggers directing traffic. Seven guardrail installation projects may begin after the new year funded through the revenue sharing program. Lane closures on Old Valley Pike at Cedar Creek bridge 9 a.m. to 3 30 p.m. through Friday for soil testing with flagger control.

Teen heroin death under investigation in Winchester
Police found drug paraphernalia and a purse during a search of a city home after an 18 year old woman died from a heroin overdose. The unidentified woman spent the night at the home and was seen with an unnamed man in the basement before being found unresponsive. No charges have been filed as the case remains under investigation. This death followed a separate 46 year old man’s overdose, marking 23rd and 24th heroin related fatalities in the Northern Shenandoah Valley in 2015.
