Virginia Port Authority cites Inland Port in expansion plans

In Front Royal the Virginia Port Authority outlined growth goals at the State of the Port address. Chief Executive Officer John Reinhart emphasized the Inland Port, one of six terminals including Norfolk, Newport News, Portsmouth, and Richmond, as vital to the system's future as the network moves about 220 000 units monthly.

Hearing delays in VFW arson case rescheduled

VFW Post 1860 arson suspect Lesley Deavers 55 of Front Royal had her Warren County Circuit Court hearing moved to July by Judge Clifford L. Athey Jr. The former VFW employee faces three felony counts including arson of an occupied public building and embezzlement over $200. The defense sought a continuance as pre trial procedures proceed.

Front Royal Council approves sidewalk and light delays

The Front Royal council granted five code exceptions for the planned criminal justice academy project on a 5-1 vote. The developer Pennoni Associates, for the Front Royal Warren County Economic Development Authority, can delay sidewalks and street lights on Progress Lane extension until related town work is completed.

Taste for Books fundraiser travels world at library
