The Warren Sentinel began in 1869 under John Clark, with a succession of owners and local development efforts. It covered education, industry, and civic life, including Shenandoah National Park, American Viscose, and skyline Drive, then adopting offset printing in 1940. Through 1993 Rebecca Poe and Joe Farruggia led milestones of editor hires, relocations, and modernization.
